  • WFH (with opportunities to leave the house!)
  • No distractions/background noise
  • Big/dual monitor, good laptop, fast internet
  • Music on always (sometimes even on calls)
  • Not too many meetings
  • Clear focus time windows (ideally 2-3 hours solid per day)

Times/Hours I like to work

  • Have embraced a more ‘flexi time’ approach since freelancing
  • However generally prefer to protect 9-5 for work
  • Often prefer to do a quiet evening/weekend shift in exchange for finishing early
  • Some mornings are hectic due to nursery drop-off
  • Work 3 days (Mon, Tue, Thurs) but often pop-up on Wednesday and happy to be ‘permanently available’ for quick questions

  • Come with a clear problem statement

The way I like to receive feedback

  • Collaboratively and candidly (life too short for BS)
  • Don’t necessarily solutionise - let me meditate on it

Things that I need are

  • Space to breath, think, and work - I can achieve a huge amount very quickly if left to it
  • Sunlight

Things I struggle with

  • Becoming overwhelmed and going into manic panic
  • Not stopping once the clock has run out
  • Tolerating naval gazing, hyperbole, inaction
  • I’m OK at articulating and presenting off-the-cuff, but important discussions and decisions need prior thinking time

  • Finding the answer, having the answer, executing the answer
  • Getting shit done without overthinking
  • Walking, being alone, video games

Other things to know about me

  • I often have trouble sleeping to the extent that I can sometimes miss an entire night’s sleep or be operating on fumes.
