Come to me for
- Relationships
Support me with
- Detail
Conditions I like to work in
- My working conditions are not that important to me. I'm pretty happy at my own laptop/desktop or in a shared working space
- If I have to sit down and write a significant piece of content, then I'll often try and change my environment to a cafe or something else to give me a new perspective from my desk
Times/Hours I like to work
- I do my best thinking work early in the morning
- I will often get up early, work through anything that needs creating (new biz doc etc) and then use the rest of my day to meet people, run workshops etc.
- I finish by 3pm most days so I can pick up my kids from school. I'll usually check back online after they've gone to bed about 7pm
The best way to communicate with me
- Slack or email are generally most convenient. I almost always miss Trello notifications
- My idea is when people just pick up the phone - although I'm often in meetings so it's not always the easiest thing to do
The way I like to receive feedback
- Through an email/Slack and then with a follow up conversation for me to understand the context and ask questions
Things that I need are
- People - my relationships are the most important thing in my life
- I increasingly struggle when I have to spend significant time away from my family
Things I struggle with
- Detail
- At my worst, my focus on relationships can tip into people pleasing and all the associated risks
- Feeling like I'm letting my team down when I have to compromise my time for whatever reason
- As an extrovert, I struggle with people who don't want to work in the open
Things I love
- My strengths are all around people and the connections I have with them
- I love working with people as part of a team, who I fully understand and trust and vice versa
Other things to know about me
- I run a community pub so will often be working from there during the day time. I always do my best to avoid interruptions, but sometimes you may have to forgive me as I deal with something unexpected...
